Our appraisal fees are surprisingly reasonable

Generally, we charge per piece depending on the amount of time it takes to perform the jewelry appraisal.  In addition, there is a surcharge for larger diamonds, larger colored stones, complicated pieces and off site visits.   We invite you to call us to get a free price quote.  Once you describe the items to us, we can give you an  estimate of how much it should cost to perform your jewelry appraisal.

We do not charge a percentage of how much the piece is worth

In the old days, most jewelry appraisers charged their fee based upon the appraised value. Generally the charge was 1/2 of 1% of the value of the item.  This practice is a blatant conflict of interest, as the jewelry appraiser would have a vested interest in providing a higher value so that he would collect a higher fee.   At Reyman Jewelry Appraisal Services, we base our fee for services fairly, based on the time we spend to perform your jewelry appraisal (with a surcharge for larger stones or complicated pieces).
